Auto‑body Refinishing Technician (NOC 72411)

Company: RJ1 Motors Ltd.

 Location: 2754 Garden St, Unit 1, Abbotsford BC V2T 3R5 

 Position type: Full‑time, permanent | 40 h/week

 Wage: $34.80 per hour

Minimum requirements:

Education: Secondary‑school completion.

Training/experience:

1-2 years of related experience

Language: Functional English – (safety instructions, customer interaction).

Ability to lift heavy panels, work in noisy/dusty environments.

Job Duties:

Inspect damaged vehicles, estimate repair costs and time, and explain the repair process to customers

Plan repair work, coordinate with other technicians, and order parts and materials

Remove damaged panels, fenders, doors, and other components using hand tools, cutting torch, or welding equipment

Repair and straighten frames, body panels, and underbody parts using frame machines, hammers, and other tools

Fill dents, seams, and holes with plastic fillers or soldering equipment, then sand and smooth surfaces

Mask, tape, and prepare vehicles for painting; mix, match, and apply paint using spray guns

Replace glass components like windshields, windows, and sunroofs

Repair or replace interior parts such as seat frames, carpets, and insulation

Inspect final repairs for quality, appearance, and proper handling; test drive if required

Keep accurate documentation of repairs, obtain customer approvals, and maintain records

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

Fast-paced environment; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination

Physically demanding: standing for long periods, bending, crouching, lifting up to 50 lbs

Noisy, dusty, and sometimes paint-chemical exposure—must follow safety protocols

Essential Skills:

Problem-solving and critical thinking

Good communication to explain repairs to customers and work with the team

Ability to follow instructions, read damage reports, and use hand/power tools

Time management and organizational skills

Other Information:

Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada
